By-Law Changes

The Following By-Law changes have taken place over the last five years. These changes will be made to the Lodge’s By-Law and a new By-Law book will be published;

2010 revision of the By-Laws and Rules of Order Handbook.
These are the proposed amendments that were voted on and passed by the lodge in the past 5 years.

Article IV: sessions reads
“Section 1: the regular sessions of this lodge shall be held on the first and third Wednesday evenings in each month throughout the year, except that in the months of July and August, sessions of the lodge shall be held on the first Wednesday evening of each thereof.”
Revision to read:
“Section 1, the regular sessions of this lodge shall be held on the first and third Tuesday evenings in each month throughout the year, except that in the months of July and august, sessions of the lodge shall be held on the first Tuesday evening of each thereof.”

Article V: elective officers and duties reads
Section 4: paragraph 7 last sentence
“for the faithful performance of his duties he shall receive as compensation $10,176.00 dollars per annum, payable bi-monthly.”
Revision to read:
“for the faithful performance of his duties he shall receive as compensation $12000.00 dollars per annum, payable bi-monthly.”

Section 5: paragraph 1 last sentence reads
“he shall be required to give bond to the lodge in the sum of $7500.00 dollars for the faithful performance of his duties, and shall receive as compensation for his services the sum of $1.00 00 per annum, payable annually.”
Revision to read:
“he shall be required to give bond to the lodge in the sum of $7500.00 dollars for the faithful performance of his duties, and shall receive as compensation for his services the sum of $3000.00 per annum, payable annually.”

Section 7: paragraph 1 add an additional sentence reads
“The Board of Trustees shall handle the day-to-day matters with out lodge direction. Trustee Chairman shall be co-signer of checks. Trustees shall recommend and approve payments of all lodge bills. The Board of Trustees shall set the wages for all clerical assistants to the Lodge Secretary.
Any proposed Lodge expenditure must be first submitted to the “Board of Trustees for their recommendation before submitting the proposed expenditure to the Lodge.”

Article X: fees and dues reads
Section 2: Paragraph 3
“The regular lodge dues shall be $86.00 per year.”
Revision to read:
“The regular lodge dues shall be $100.00 per year.”

Section 4: paragraph 1 last sentence reads
“Before such reinstatement, the applicant shall pay to the lodge a reinstatement fee of $20.00, and in addition thereto, a proportionate share of the current dues, prorated in the same manner as the dues of a new member, together with any indebtedness owing to the lodge or club.”
Revision to read:
“Before such reinstatement, the applicant shall pay to the lodge a reinstatement fee of $20.00, except for the months of December and January when the reinstatement fee will be $1.00 and in addition thereto a proportioned share of the current dues, prorated in the same manner as the dues of a new member, together with any indebtedness owing to the lodge or club.”

Article V; Elective Officers & Duties of the Trustees
Add this paragraph following paragraph 7 of Sec. 7.
“The board of Trustees shall present for the Lodge’s consideration a recommendation relative to Lodge dues. In accordance with the budget presentation, the trustees shall advise the Lodge of their recommendation to increase or hold constant the current fixed amount of dues contained in Article X, Sec 2, Para 3. The recommended increase, excluding any supplement appropriation, shall be based on the commonly accepted, nationally recognized inflationary scale. “The Consumer Price Index” is hereby designated. The Lodge floor will by 2/3’s vote affirms or denies the trustees recommendation.”

Article V; Elective Officer and Duties of the Secretary.
Paragraph 7 last sentence now reads:
“For the faithful performance of his duties he shall receive as compensation $7,000.00 per annum, payable bi-monthly.”
Proposed amendment to read as follows:
“For the faithful performance of his duties he shall receive as compensation $12,000.00 per annum, payable bi-monthly”
