On Tuesday August 3, 2010 we at the Rapid City Elks Lodge provided a complimentary broasted chicken meal to the volunteers at the Habitat for Humanity home being built here in Rapid City. See the pictures on our Facebook page
The Lodge is getting a facelift !
2010 SPORTS SHOW
Feb 19, 20 & 21 The Lodge had a both at Sports Show and the both was man by volunteers. Dennis Johnson, Bill Petersen and Tom Anderson (TACO) where ready to have their picture taken for the cause, but there where many more that manned the both. We would like thank Howie Rice for making all the arrangements for the both and making it a great success.
There has been a rumor of a herd of Elk on the Golf Course
Work on the Lodge Addition has been completed. So come and see what has been added to the Lodge.
Also the Heard Room has been upgraded to better handle small meetings and parties accommodating any size group from 8 to 150, the rooms include an independent sound system (capable of being connected to a computer or other A/V equipment for presentations) with available microphone, lighting and ventilation. This was made possible by Bob Knecht and Scott Olson spearheading the raising of the necessary funds and Bill Peterson and Larry Bulman organizing and overseeing the work. Which means they did most of it. So if you haven't been out to see the addition your should stop by and see what a few volunteers and donated funds can do.
From all reports the annual Independence Day
celebration July 5 was a huge success.
It would appear Molly Boehler,daughter of Cara
and Russ Boehler certainly agreed.
Thanks to all the Activities Committee members, volunteers, officers and trustees who made it all come together.
